Atlas Cell Testing

Atlas cell testing is one of the most widely accepted immersion test methods used for internal tank linings, vessels, etc. Besides testing coating’s chemical resistance to an oil and gas environment, this test evaluates a common phenomena found in service called the cold-wall effect, i.e. coating’s resistance to the temperature gradient between the external and internal surfaces of a coating that lines the interior surface of uninsulated pipes, tanks, or vessels. The test can run under atmospheric or pressurized conditions as per client’s requirements or as per NACE M0174: Laboratory Methods for the Evaluation of Protective Coatings and Lining Materials on Metallic Substrates in Immersion Service.

The test can run under atmospheric or pressurized conditions as per parameters and determined by clients or as per
